vr4 dual layer brake pump...

after my accident, got no confidence with my oem braking system already.... so, i made up my mind and decided to go for it...

bought from HSLim halfcut shop, RM150...
installation + new brake fluid = RM 45...

bearing damaged...

repairs again...

this time is my rear right bearing worn out...
at first, i heard deep scratching sound from the rear wheel arch... i didnt care much about it and even made 2 separate long distance trip...
first trip was from malacca <-> ipoh 2 way trip... few days after that, malacca <-> KLIA 2 way trip...

had enough of the sound, i decided to jack up my car and diagnose the problem... lifted the rear up, spin the wheel, and scratching sound appear.... the inner tyres were rubbing against the absorber... bearing 'kong-ed'....

the inner components of my drum brakes...

multilink suspension system + naked drum brakes...

new bearings...

total lost, RM55 (include the centre nut which damaged while unscrewing it)...

power window failure...

15 april 2006.... it happens again... my driver side power window came down and never able to get up by itself again....

at first i went to unique champion accessory shop in malim to find out the problem... the guy said power window motor failure and need to change a new one... he charged me RM75 include installation...
finding it rather expensive, i went off trying my luck scouting for any second hand power window motor at HSLim halfcut shop nearby... luck wasnt on my side as they only got brand new set, cost RM45...

something pop up in my mind... why not try to diy change the power window motor??.... RM75 - RM45 = RM30... can save 30bucks....

so, here is my new power window motor set...

door panel being removed...

oopss... the motor is behind of the panel... how to change??..

after trying for an hour blindly removing the motor from behind, i decided to give up and bring it to the nearest bawah pokok workshop to get it fixed...

much to my surprise, i need to remove the whole window out and the whole skeleton that held the window jz to change the blardy motor... i see it is a fairly easy task (if only i knew how in the first place) but the mech told me better send it to the foreman coz if the motor mounted wrongly, it can damage the skeleton and gears....

anyway it is... the mech charged me RM10 for helping me clean up my mess....

it is a worthwhile experience though... if i didnt get my hand dirty and tried it our myself, i wouldnt know how to change the power window motor in the future...
it's a vr important lesson as proton cars power window problems are legendary...
